Because together we make a difference. We served side by side in times of war; brothers and sisters in arms. Today we continue to serve our military, fellow veterans and their families. Membership in the American Legion offers many benefits that include involvement in community programs, a voice in Washington DC, investment in children's activities, education, and camaraderie. Of course, our main focus is for veteran’s rights and their families; which is why we continue to lobby in Washington for veterans, current service men and women, and Americanism. We might have said this before but it’s worth repeating, “The American Legion is the largest veteran’s organization”.
The American Legion provides life-changing assistance and guidance for veterans, military personnel, their families and communities in thousands of ways every day around the world. Help to those who need it come in the form of personal assistance, cash grants, donated goods, disaster relief, labor, networking, volunteerism and advocacy.
If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.
